Iam looking at getting a 40-50# bowtech 82nd airborn, will primarily use it this year for elk in september. Is it enough poundage to drop an elk? Input on the 82nd if you all know anything about them.

65# with a decently heavy arrow would work better. Of course Uncle Ted has killed all manner of beasts with a 50-55# bow. Shot placement is key as always but if you can try for more like a 65# so you'll have a bit of fudge factor if you don't make the perfect shot.

50 # for elk would be the least i would consider....
60 would be where i would recommend.....but it has been done with alot less.
