I was wondering if anybody has had a chance to shoot the new bowtech insanity. Looks pretty sweet, can't wait till the archery den gets one in.

It's a lot better than the tuning fork from last year. Looks identical to a "MONSTER" if you ask me. Draw cycle still not as good as MONSTER, but it's still a very nice rig.

Lets not forget the MONSTER is just a copy of the X Force. :-)

You gotta keep in mind that what PSE did with the X Force shook up the bow world. We went from having bows that averaged 310 fps IBO @ 30" 70 LBS with a 6" - 7" brace height to having bows shoot 340+ with same specs and forgiveness. They are quiet, decently easy to draw, and forgiving to shoot even with lower brace heights and short A-A lengths.

As with ANYTHING...once competition sees where the trend is headed, they try to get a slice of the pie and offer their version of whatever it is. Some are almost exact replicas and some are similar but improved on. PSE has improved on the original X Force since its intro...Mathews came on board and was sued by PSE for the original Monster series so they had to change it for the MR series...basically it was the degree of pre loading on the limbs that they copied from PSE. And now BOWTECH has their version of the same things. Which is the better one? No idea...they have specs so close you're probably just as good to close your eyes and grab one. Or whichever your brand loyalty is to. I'm shooting the Evo because everybody else here has Mathews and it is gonna be a stick in their crawl when we get ramped up in 3Ds and the lil PSE they've made fun of since I got it is kicking their tail haha

I have had 2 Mathews bows and 2 bowtech bows being the destroyer 350 and the invasion. I went to the archery den today and they had the insanity and I shot it. The draw cycle was very smooth, the back wall was awesome, no hand vibration at all. The chrono with a 340 flatline surgical arrow, 100 grain field point with a whisker biscuit, 29 inch draw pulling 66lbs was 324 feet per seconds. That is gettin it and it is dead on. It is awesome I luv this bow.

I agree totally with Raged. The Insanity has the best back wall of any bow I've ever shot and the draw cycle was very similar to the Admiral I'm currently shooting. The hand shock was practically nonexistant and the bow was the most controllable rig I've ever shot with a 6" brace height. I will wait until I shoot the 35" InsanityXL just for comparison sake, but I dare say Tracy Taylor at Taylor's Archery in Tullahoma will be ordering me one or the other and it will be in a tree with me come opening morning!

IL88 -- Are you blind or just that naive? They all are the same basic A-A length, same brace height, same mass weight, dual cams, split limbs, and within a few FPS of one another. Put that together with the preloaded limbs and WHAM basically copies of one another.

Ha... ya similar in specs and appearance I suppose. In terms of actual function, they are COMPLETELY different animals. The Bowtech and Mathews are two different types of dual cams. They are similar but still function quite differently. The PSE is a hybrid, not a dual. They all use different cable guard setups. They all balance differently and have very different grips. The limb pockets or lack there of are very different. They also differ in how you would go about tuning them.

I was talking a little deeper than just appearance.

As far as the Insanity though, Bowtech has a great thing going with that cam system. However, I probably wouldn't sell one to a beginner. They are super easy to tune but you definitely have to know what you are doing.

Yeah you couldn't run fast enough to throw a mathews in my truck. Just kidding there is good and bad with them all. I shoot a 350 now but will be all over the insanity when I get them.

I placed my order Tuesday can't wait till it gets her. Got the the reeltree riser and black limbs.

I shot this same bow and it is awesome, Tracy can really set any bow up, I thought it has a little hand shock but it is really fast and great feeling when you draw. My son and another guy on our lease just bought two mathews after the comparison of these same bows but it is really a toss up when you shoot them side by side, They both had x-Force bows they sold to get these. Both bows had the same problem, The timing and the settings would not stay correct.but they shot good when right

Ok I shot the Insanity again after Tracy had a good rest , stabilizer and made sure it was right. It is awesome. I have shot a Mathews since the 90's and this is the first bow that has ever make me think about switching Brands. No Hand shock, Fast and quiet. I shot it side by side with my Monster and it looks just like the monster. It has LESS hand shock than the Monster and is smoother at the back end. Awesome bow Bowtech. I didnt buy one but thinking about it.
