My 11 year old 835 that is. I try to wipe my gun down after each hunt. I've broken it down and taken out the magazine tube and cleaned that, but last night was the first time I have ever completely broke it down and removed and cleaned the trigger system. Talk about grimey! Looks like a brand new gun now. If you don't do this often, its a good idea, its amazing at how bad of shape it can get it over time.

I always completely disassemble my 835 at the end of each season for a thorough cleaning before storage. I also do a quick clean up after each hunt. Some people call me a fanatic about cleaning my firearms but they will last forever if you take care of them.

I always break my guns down after season to give them a complete cleaning. Depending on how much shooting or if they take the accidental dip in the lake..... I will break them down during the season.
