Two mornings in a row now I have witnessed breeding. Hens still seem flocked to some extent, but have watched some boss birds do their thing.

I got groups of 2 and 3 hens running around in Alabama with a few singles here and there. It is time boys and girls.

Right on schedule if not a little late for breeding to be in full swing.

Usually during Grouse season we start hearing birds gobbling around mid February, and we didn't hear the first gobble for the first time in almost 10 years this Grouse season. Strange, and doesn't mean jack, but it is something to note.

I believe its right on time as usual too. Haven't heard the gobbling like I have in the past either, I thought that was strange too. The birds just went straight from their big groups to breeding it seemed.
