Broad heads cutting angle thru target?

I took advantage of the calm periods between gusts today to sight in my bow with the new arrows

Got it shooing an inch or two high at 20 yd with the NAP thunderheads.

When I shot with field points they all went in straight

When I shot with broadheads they went in crooked. Do the blades cut funny channels? It's a hay bale.
 
Yes. Hay will do that to a broadhead and sometimes to a fieldpoint as well. As the cut hay is layered into the bale some layers are more tightly compacted than others. This will cause the broad head to deflect to one side or the other. Don't read too much into that.
