Which broadhead do you recommend for traditional archery. I have shot mine for a couple years, and now I think that I might try it in the woods this season.

cut on contact. I've taken deer with snuffers and montecs. got buddies that have good results with 2-blades. the main component is SHARP.

ive been using snuffers but ive yet to shoot anything with them. they seem to shoot good. i have the glue on type on cedar arrow.

I have always preferred two blades like a Magnus or Zwickey. I switched to the Abowyers last year and like them.

If I could find some of the old carbon steel bear razor heads I'd use them but since ther extict it up to the magnus, but have had thoughts on try'n a mechanical head, I've seen some pictures a friend took of some he tried and the hole is massive.

Another vote for 2 blade cut on impact. I used glue on Zwickeys when I shot wooden shafts now I use the Magnus Stinger screw in with Aluminum shafts. If I shot a heavier bow I might look at a 3-blade cut on impact (like the snuffer) but I've never had any problems with the 2 blade broadheads. Heavy and short blood trails always led right up to the deer.

The comment about being sharp is dead-on (no pun intended). You save a lot of money going with a resharpenable broadhead but if you just can't get the hang of sharpening them (it's tricky for many people) then go with a 2 blade that had replaceable blades like the Stinger. These can also be sharpened by the way.

YEA the old BEAR heads with Cedar shafts are good and thats the way it was in the old days before everything changed and it became a business of selling bows like cars , each one out of date when the new shinny one came out .
I still have my first recurve bow it will never go out of date.

Wensel Woodsman. The new Elite comes in a 200 grain beast.

Zwickeys are good, just need them sharp as heck and add more wieght. I like FOC (forward of center) balance to be extreme!

I only shoot 53# so I aim for a insert/broadhead slash arrow combo around 625 grains.

As far as sharpener.....depends on the broadhead. I use Rosie O'Donnell files on most of my heads then finish them off with a jewel stick. You can get zwickeys, woodsman and snuffer broadheads SCARY sharp doing this....

Check out 3 rivers archery........also, they have instructional videos on their website. Awesome company and awesome people. I do not shop/buy from anyone else....except for Rose City Archery for my Port Orford Cedar shafts....
