I have one. Bought the dern thing back in the early 70s and thought I was going to kill a deer with it but never did. Over these many years I've played with it a bit but never too seriously. Well, today I drug it out and shot it awhile trying some different arrows that I had. It was the first time I'd shot a traditional bow since I don't know when.....Man!!was I surprised. Never lost an arrow. My grouping was nothing to write home about but I sure did have fun. I think if I practice a some, a big o fat doe might be in trouble at 20 yards.
 
OH...NO ! I can tell already your get'n the fever, its starts out simple enuff, " think I'll shoot my old recurve, just a couple arrows.".

next thing ya now your buy'n shafts & feathers to fletch your own arrows & ya start to shoot regular and as the groups improve the addiction only drags you deeper.

Just to ease the anxiety you start hunting small game, "its just a rabbit, no one will even notice." and before you know it's "I'll do just a quilk hunt, I just want one more rabbit, or...or a squirrel !!! "

and then you pretend to be work'n with the office computer your sneak'n around behind every ones back look'n at traditional archery sites & posting in the Trad thread on TNdeer, always look'n over your back, parinoid of co workers look'n over your shoulder, after all its your little secret.

by then...your in deep, too deep, your consumed with it.
 
I've got a little Nomad Stalker that my older brother bought new in 1973. Still shoots fine, but has old duct tape residue all over it from when he taped a bowfishing reel to it for a few years.
 
Wobbly shot, let's see a picture! My dad's nomad is what started me posting in this forum last season. Learned a lot shooting it over the summer, only to be shut down when it delaminated a week before the season started.

I ended up paying a pretty penny for something custom made close to my house, but I thought it was worth it for a guy with a good rep and that I could drive to in 40 minutes.

Thanks! I'm not sure to be fair - I worked with Lee Hoots at his house (NC) with some stock bows he had at the time, and I was just a killer shot with the bow in the pictures, so I bought it. Was at a bit of a loss given I had just blown the limbs on my old man's bow. Lee makes a quiet, accurate, and good looking bow. Not the cheapest, but high on value in my opinion. Plus he's a killer guy. Come to think of it, I feel like I owe him a visit.
