I'm seeing a ton of yearlings and mature does on the land. Rarely seeing bucks. Obviously they're there 'cause something doing the breeding. I assume the mature bucks have gone nocturnal. Question: Should I assume that I should take a few more does this year to better equalize the ratio? I've held on the small bucks that I have seen (2, 4, 6 pointers - but few and far between). I've got a few does in the freezer and have been holding out for Mr Big Buck. Thinking now with the season drawing to a close, I might ought to harvest a few more does to make for a better herd. Ideas? Comments? Thanks.

Equalizing the sex ratio will help drive the bucks you have into more daylight movement.

Hammer the does. Your overall deer sightings will go down but the number of buck sightings will go up. It depends on which you prefer. A big percentage of hunters would rather see a bigger number of deer than a smaller number with more bucks.
