This log is about 4ft above a trail that connects historical buck bedding to a small food plot about 200yds uphill on a high point knob. Haven't been in that area of the property in a couple years because of difficult terrain but ventured in today on a scouting hike. Years of racks rubbing as bucks walked under have left a noticeable dent worn into it.
The knob plot is as much a social hub as it is a quick bite. Lots of deer check in and never eat a thing. I cut a small hackberry and drilled holes in each side that fit oak branches. I hang vines from the branches. Deer seem to love it. Whenever one breaks I stick another in and they never skip a beat.
