Pulled a card from a new spot on one of my farms.

I don't think I have ever got a single pic with this many racked bucks. Crazy...

Very cool, and one really nice and unique buck!

How do you like the Covert cam?

I recently did something I said I'd never do again, i.e. buy another cam made in China. I'm "testing" a Covert Black 60 model now. Initial 1-day test indicated it was working with initial set-up, but I haven't been back to check again since placed a couple weeks ago. May just go check that one in the morning.

Speaking of big bachelor groups, the most I've ever seen (free-roaming) in TN was 14 antlered bucks in Weakley County. (Kinda ironic that you have AT LEAST 14 in your pic.) But the largest of my group was about the size of one of your average ones, while most were spikes and 4-pointers. I do occasionally see groups of 5 to 7 "nice" ones, but haven't seen a group as nice and large as what you have there. What's more, we just see what's in the pic, as there might be more in that group you have there.

This is very impressive!

Wes, I have seen 2 huge groups of bucks in my life. One was close to Franklin during the month of July a long time ago.....27 bucks and one doe. The 2nd largest I have seen is 22 bucks in a front yard close to Harpeth Hills golf course in Nashville. That was in December. Makes your jaw drop

Wowzer!
I would bet that "doe" was actually a button buck?

I've seen some large bachelor groups in unhunted places like Cades Cove, but don't recall ever seeing a single "group" with more than 14. That group of 14 I saw was on my family's farm in Weakley County several years ago. They were heavily hunted in that area, but lots of yearling bucks each year, most of which had little chance at surviving to 2 1/2. I actually believe in that group of 14, the oldest was 2 1/2, and all the others were yearling 1 1/2's.

I've seen more bucks in some huge soybean fields, but when several groups of several are several hundred yards apart in a 1,000-acre field, it's not a single group like CAW posted, or your group of 27 seen.

Thanks. All the management is really paying off!

Actually, this is one of 2 Coverts that are still working. I quit buying the Chinese stuff this year and went with Reconyx. I have bought countless Coverts, Moultries, Cuddes, etc. over the years and all but 2 Coverts and 3 Moultries have bit the dust. I assume the ones still working will go out soon as well. I like the pics the Covert takes and I would probably rank them #1 amongst the Chinese stuff, but they just don't last more than a year or two - at least not for me!

There are 14 in the first pic. And you're right, that's only what's in the frame! I've gotten pics of some large bachelor groups, but this one certainly takes the cake!

If you are familiar with nashville, I could tell you exactly where. This was around the years 93 -95. A lot of development going on in that area and that probably had something to do with it. I wouldn't doubt it at all if that one was a button buck. Just one we couldn't see horns.

The one group close to Harpeth hills was right after the rut. I guess they just grouped up. That was around the year 2000

Well, I feel a little less stupid now. :D
I've been "took" so many times by various brands (made in China), I swore I'd never buy another, then just "had to try" a Covert Black 60 after a friend raved about Covert's "easy" return policy if they don't work properly. At least the company branding them is based in Kentucky, which is kinda like a "hometown" company to me.

I've been waiting for Reconyx to do some significant upgrades to their pic quality. Their cams may be the most reliable and best lasting value, but the cheap Coverts produce much better quality pics. Come on Reconyx, move your bar up to at least a 5.0 mp pic. Until that happens, believe the best balance between pic quality & lasting value remains with homebrews.

The Coverts do take excellent pics and are easy to swap out when they go bad - I just got tired of swapping cams and can't stand pulling a card on a camera that has failed. Now that I know these bucks are using this particular field, I will put one of my Reconyx on it just in case the Covert goes south (and it will, it's just a matter of time).

And I agree with you 100%, the Reconyx pics are not the best quality. They just don't seem to fail. For now I will trade the poor pic quality for the reliability. I probably should try the Homebrews and see how they do.

I agree with what your saying , Wes, but for reliability, you CANNOT beat Rexonyx. What im waiting for is another company to come along that competes with Reconyx, so therefore Reconyx HAS to reduce their prices. Not only will you have a cheaper camera with great quality and reliability, you will also have a cheaper Reconyx :) . Reconyx will then do some upgrades. Until that happens, things will not change. So not, "Come on Reconyx"....it should be, "Come on American made camera companies"....IMO
