can anyone tell me how to get bucks on cam. all I am getting is does and fawns ant got the first buck on cam?

How long has the lick been established?

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. I just put mine out yesterday (I don't care what they look like until right around now anyways). A lot of times, I don't see any descent bucks until around mid-August. On many properties that don't have many bucks on it during the summer, there will be more than average number of bucks show up right before peak breeding. We get a wave of "new bucks" around mid- October, then more at the start of November. We also lose some. Point is, if your not getting any bucks on cam right now, I wouldn't worry about it one bit

aint got anything but does, fawns and yearling bucks on cam since I put them out last winter. But I know, in september the place is covered in fresh rubs, and have seen the big boys during the fall, so they will be there when they smell the hot does.

Doe sink....the bucks will come. ;) I'm probably not too far from you, and I have the same thing every other year it seems. Just does and little button/spikes all summer long, then the bucks come in like gangbusters during pre rut and rut.

Be glad you're not seeing them now. Hopefully that means the bucks are using your place more in the fall.

bigrob,

Your hunting area may hold few bucks in summer. But don't worry, where bucks are in summer bachelor groups means nothing towards where they will be in the fall or during the rut.
