Close losses, bad coaching decisions, bad OC hires, young team, analytics, bad charts etc, etc, mean nothing at this point. There is a very real problem within this UT team. A team that is loaded with enough talent to be tons better than they have shown so far. They were better last season than they are playing right now.

I had bought in to Jones like many other UT fans as well. That's what you do when you are a sincere fan of your home team. You choose to support who ever the new guy in charge is because in reality, that's all you can do as a fan. On the outside, he has done good things for the image of UT football but that will all come crashing down.

If you frequent Volnation much you already know what I'm talking about. There are some rumors spreading. They may be just that. A rumor. One of the rumors is about to go viral and somebody will have to answer some questions very soon. There could not be an ounce of truth to it but it's about to be out there nationwide and whether it's true or false there will be fall out. The rumored incident took place in fall camp and is just now getting some serious legs which points to being covered up. If it is true and was covered up, everybody should be fired from Cheek on down. It may be what UT has needed anyway.

Yeah I am not buying that he hit a player... The way things get out now I think we would have heard already.

But I get what ur saying about buying in on your coach as a fan but he has shown nothing but a good car salesman approach. IF the rumor is true then he will be out ASAP and won't have to worry about a buyout. But if it isn't he isn't going anywhere any time soon.

heres all i'll say about it...http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/funny/1/yugo-hits-the-fan.gif

In 17 years under Phillip Fulmer the Vols blew a two possession lead just six times –
Butch Jones' Vols have done that in their last three games against FBS teams, three times in four weeks and four times in the last 13 games.
This isn't some trend plaguing college football – all Power 5 teams are 157-5 when leading by 13+ points this season while Tennessee is just 2-3.

Yep... The "hype" has caught up to CBJ. I mentioned before the season that "hype" could be a dangerous thing... :)

It would seem that they hype is having an affect on the Vols. Or should I say the Vol fans. The media built every bit of this hype much like they did for Auburn as well. Im not trying to take up for Butch but all of that hyoe coming from the media in the off season is the reason why Volnation is melting down and falling through the cracks right now. Call it coach speak, evasion, whatever but Butch knew going into the season that there was potential for this team to be good to great even with a fairly young team but he also knew that there was very little cushion for injuries, mistakes and so on. He has tried all of season, especially once the hype got to rolling, to curb some of the hype Volnation was letting themselves get into but it fell on mostly deaf ears. He has without a doubt made some horrible calls. He should wear most of the criticism hes getting right now but the fact of the matter is, and he tried to get this message across, is there was very little room for error going in and it has in fact fell on the wrong side of the fence so far.

Injuries happen to every team. We all know this. But when they happen to one of the only senior leaders the team has, it has a very bad outcome. This team is in fact still relatively young from the standpoint of having guys that are battle tested leaders and that is showing right now.

I dont think Butch is a good coach. His offensive scheme is crap. But his team has been in position in all three losses and that is because of the plan he had going into the game. That plan put them into position for the wins. What I have seen is lack of execution on offense and defense. Somebody has got to step up and be the guy to make a play to win these games. Jalen Hurd and Josh Dobbs can not do it all.

Back on the Butch altercation with a player. He was directly asked about it in his presser today and his reply was "absolutely rediculous". Since then there have been some tweets from a former Olineman pretty much saying that people are just now learning what he has known all along.

Like I said, it might all be false but its out there now and the worms are wiggling free. People are gonna dig now.

He was 23-14 with a Big East Championship and a bowl win at Cincy.
