The buttercups are just now blooming and I'm wondering if everything will be late this spring including the turkeys busting up. I had a group of long beards I had been watching last year. I was working in a field on the day they decided to split up. It was like all of a sudden they were enemies. So I realize it happens fast but will it happen before the youth hunt?

Not trying to start an argument, just a general conversation.

My buttercups are a full two months later than last year. I would rather have the green up happen sooner than later, but no telling if it makes any real difference.

I am in utter shock y'all thought last year was an early spring green up. I hunted in 6" of snow on opening day and last years March was well below average temps here as well. In the south the Bradford pears were blooming two weeks late and it was way behind down there as well. every where I hunted it seemed that I hit the break up period until about mid April which is really late and odd.

Now 2 years ago was the earliest green up I've ever seen.

It's snowing here now and I don't see anyway we green up early this year.

Exactly.... I take an early spring over a late one every year, as far as turkey hunting goes...

Spring of '12 was weeks earlier than last season. Opening day here was in the 40's with rain and hunted (although green up had started) in 35 degree temps on April 20. As yall said, it looks to be even later this season barring a super warm March. Regardless, I'm gonna be hunting if season is open!

I would rather have a late spring for hunting turkeys. I have a somewhat abnormal thought process though that might offend some of you.
