Cabelas Trail Cams - Lifetime guarantee

I am looking to replace some trail cameras due to failures and theft. I looked at the Bushnell 14MP but it has numerous problems. I am thinking about the Brownings but need to study on them a little more. Another thing I ran across is that Cabelas has someone making cameras for it and Cabelas indicates that its cameras have lifetime guarantees.

Anyone have experience with the Cabelas cameras or know who makes them?

There was a discussion either on here or on another forum. I don't think it is a true lifetime guarantee/warranty. It seems like, I could be wrong, that it was something like - they determine the lifetime of a trail camera to be 1 year and they will cover it for the 1 year "lifetime" of the camera. You might check into it before purchasing, and I'd get it in writing from them. Maybe have them send you an email with Trail Camera warranty policy. I could be wrong about all that, but I think that is how I remember it.

Well, that would be about what most trail cam warranties are anyhow. So, I guess the other question is how do the Cabelas perform compared to others in the same price range of $100 to $200?

Another thing to keep in mind with any so-called "lifetime" guarantee is that it becomes worthless if the company goes bankrupt.

Personally, I'd recommend the Brownings over the Cabela's trail cams.
