Florida WR Antonio Callaway's indefinite suspension is apparently related to an accusation of sexual assault.

ESPN's Paula Lavigne and Mark Schlabach report that a woman who accused Callaway and former Florida QB Treon Harris of sexually assaulting her in December is boycotting a Title IX hearing on the matter because Florida appointed a football booster to adjudicate it.

The alleged assault happened in early December. The woman reported the incident to the university but did not report it to police. Callaway and Harris were suspended indefinitely in January for violating the student code of conduct. During that time they were not allowed on campus and took classes online.

Callaway has not been reinstated to play in games, but he was allowed back on campus in June for summer classes and participated in the team's first fall practices this week. The university announced last week that Harris was transferring.

The woman's attorney, John Clune, told the University of Florida his client would not be participating in the hearing, scheduled for Friday, in a letter that was obtained by ESPN.

"This has been a difficult decision but as I previously indicated to you, the fact that UF has hired a football booster to adjudicate a sexual assault allegation against one of the team's own football players is a fundamentally skewed process in which [the complainant] refuses to participate," Clune wrote.

So 1 of Florida's WRs has been accused of sexual assault, and two others are facing felony charges. All of them can be found on the practice field :?

One player stops a rape, two more involved in one? Hmmmm.

Also Furthermore, ESPN reports that Harris agreed to transfer away from Florida as part of a plea deal with the as part of a plea deal related to the Title IX case. Harris was suspended indefinitely in October of 2014 after he was accused of sexual assault, but returned to the team the following week after the alleged accuser dropped her complaint after four days. Hmmm ,another Title 9 case.

John Clune will not settle for just a little.

What goes around comes around. Thanks for posting Donkey

They must of not read where both players have been suspended since Jan. (so not nothing new), victim never notified the police, and the players were never arrested.

If they did it, then they need to be punished. Of course I never read anything on here about a local college paying big bucks on a title IX settlement..... :tu: Is that where the glass house comes in??? :)

I do think it's stupid on UF part to use a Booster as a judge.

caught two :super:

yes they have been suspended since January, For " violating the schools code of conduct policy" which sounds a little better then sexual assault .

According to the Gainesville Sun, Callaway is eligible to practice and play with the team despite a lack of a resolution in the case.

If you knew the facts of the case, you might understand why he's now eligible. First of all, anyone that's on a UF forum knew the reason why that they were suspended. The media is a little slowwww... The players were never contacted by the police or arrested. From reports the victim has never contacted the police.

The only displince these players are looking at is through the school disciplinary board. That's where UF made a mistake by putting a booster to overlook the hearing. That's why it's now big news. Acutally when you look at it, UF suspended players that have never been charged or investigated by the police for a crime. Not many schools do that???

Now if they did it or not, I don't know that answer and if they did. Kick them off the team. Of course one of the players has now transferred since he's not playing QB anymore.

I understand the case

anything about the case I posted was from another source besides me like " Gainesville sun" I'm just posting it on this fourm :tu:

The woman and her attorney have taken issue with the way Florida has handled this incident and are specifically angry about who the university brought on to lead the hearing on Friday. The woman, along with her parents and five witnesses, are refusing to attend the hearing because a booster and former student-athlete is the officer in charge.

"The fact that UF has hired a football booster to adjudicate a sexual assault allegation against one of the team's own football players is a fundamentally skewed process in which [the complainant] refuses to participate," the woman's attorney, John Clune, wrote in a letter sent to UF's general counsel that was obtained by ESPN and the Orlando Sentinel and read by OnlyGators.com. "To be clear, [the complainant] remains very willing to participate in a fair and unbiased disciplinary process. Mr. [Callaway]'s behavior has had a great impact on her life and continuing as a student at UF is of great importance to her and her future."

such as that which has nothing to do with nothing lol :tu:

yeah would be interesting facts if we has talking about something that had to do with Tennessee, wins, Northwestern kool aide, or anything close to those things lol but we wasn't. :tu: :tu:

Mnt cur, we have knowledge of our teams record. You might add we were in every game, which could mean a score away from being undefeated! At least some look at it that way. The Florida story was just on Finebaum

I'm just trying to divert attention away from sexual assault since it got the board locked
