For some reason i have been very fortunate to have a good year. I was afraid on top of working and student teaching, i'd be lucky to kill one. Today a buddy of mine who i grew up was having a cookout, so i get down early when i get off work and take my little bro. My friend had killed one before and my brother hadn't kill any. We saw a group of turkeys in the field about a half mile off and i gave him that what the heck look. We get camoed up and head to the right. I told him i'd hang out behind them and call. We hadn't sat down for 5 mins and my brother looks back at me and gave me "that o yes look". 2 jakes came in and before i know it....BAM. 2 turkeys flopping. Man i was pumped. 1 had a 6.5 inch beard and 1/2 spurs and the other had a 5 inch beard and 1/2 spurs. It will go down as one of my favorite all time hunts. I'll post the pics when i get caught up on lesson plans lol
