Video coming soon...
Yesterday was dead quiet on public land, except for one bird that gobbled twice. I called him to 20 yards, but he saw me raise my gun.
Today was also dead quiet, hunting with Fleet Fox, except for this one bird that got pretty fired up.
We repositioned a few times, and finally I was in a spot where I hoped he would pop out from a cut between two fields. I made another soft call and waited...
Few mins and I saw the red head bobbing behind some bushes. He cleared the last scrubby cedar tree and started looking at us, so I gave him some copper plated lead at roughly 20-25 yards.
He flopped into some water so the fan was a little wet, but I walked up and felt how heavy he was and then Daniel grabbed the beards...yea he's got 2 beards, a 10 3/4 and a 8". That's my first double beard and the joker weighed 24 lb 7 oz. 1 1/8" spurs. Called him in and shot roughly around 1:20 pm
Gotta go finish plucking and cut the meat out. Going to try making turkey cracklins with some of the skin, hope that turns out good.
Here are pics
Will upload video soon as I get the chance to work on it
