CAN NOT TUNE OCTANE HOSTAGE PRO REST

I have to say I am very disappointed in my new rest. I thought this would be better than a Whisker Biscuit.

My bow was shooting great before I put the octane rest on. It simply will not tune with this rest.

Any ideas? My next step will be either go back to my old NAP Plungerrest which has always worked great or a QAD dropaway.

Couldn't get my girlfriend's bow to tune either with one...went to a dropaway.

What do you mean when you say will not tune? Do you mean you can't paper tune it or broadhead tune it or something else?

It will not paper tune. Spent Sat in garage shooting thru paper.
Arrow does not ever stabilize even with best paper tear I could get, which was pretty bad.

I have the regular hostage pro and its awesome..I love it.. You makeing sure your fletching's aren't hitting the brushes when you release it?

Do you have the brushes adjusted where they are not to big or small for the arrows you are using? If all else fails I would forget the paper and try walk back tuning.

Welcome to the club The Hostage Pro is the worse piece of crap I've ever bought for a bow. It probably wont tune because with every shot you take, your arrow is removing some of the bristles from the bottom brush. So your arrows aren't leaving the bow the same way each time you shoot. I had mine for just a couple of weeks and began to notice every time I would shoot I would have to adjust my elevation on my sights. That's not normal at all and I kept thinking my sight was vibrating loose or something of that nature. That was until I discovered that the bottom brush wouldn't even hold the arrow up anymore; most of the bristles were gone!

Now I reckon they have addressed this problem but for $70 there never should have been a problem.

Now the odd thing is, I bought the regular Hostage for my wife's bow. I gave $20 for it new off ArcheryTalk. Its been on her bow for a year now and it has been probably the best rest for the money that I've ever bought.

The Hostage Pro though ain't worth $5.

Thats odd. I had the regular hostage rest on my bow last year and I thought it was great! Took me about 10 minutes to paper tune it.
