I lost an arrow target practicing because I slipped and bumped the release, and heard the arrow ricochet through the trees. That leaves me with 3 arrows. So I went to Walmart and they're sold out of the arrows I shoot. Academy and Richard's dont have them. I've been wanting new lighter arrows anyway, especially since TnDeerGuy determined my arrows were very heavy for the poundage of bow. So Wally had 4 boxes left of Carbon Express Speed Freak 55/70 30 inch arrows on clearance for $30 a box of 6. I did the math and they are a good bit lighter than my current arrows. I hope they shoot well and was wondering if anyone else has used em here and are they decent. Today I'm hunting with my 3 old arrows but will soon switch and sight my bow in for the new ones.

Those arrows apparently have a tolerance of .003 and they are 8.9gpi, so they are slightly lighter than what you are currently shooting and I think they will be a decent fit for your setup. The slight reduction in weight and the slight increase in speed that you will gain will equate to basically the same k/e out of the bow and not as big of a drop between 20 and 30 like you currently havewhich is relatively important to you and your setup. They will need to be cut down to fit though, but we can do that down the road. I think they will be fine for what you have and for someone on a tight budget.

Do you know what most bow shops charge to cut arrows?

I've been doing my own for so long, I have no idea what the current rate would bejust call around. I would think it would be relatively cheap, just make sure they square the ends of the shaft and the insert when they do it.

I have found and just my experience, if you take your arrows in and buy something in the store that your needing, they will cut your arrows for free. I have had this done 2 times already. I was willing to pay but they just brushed it off. One store gave me the inserts. I shoot speed freaks as well and i love em, low cost, pretty durable. Been shooting the same ones for about a year. I'm new to bow hunting but i killed a 5 pointer with them and had thru-N-thru shot. 1st year bow hunting and inexperienced, but my opinion. Good arrows and want kill the bank account or even show up for the wife to find.

Bass Pro in Nashville cuts for free! Ask Boo! She cuts a boat load of them!
I need to head that way soon... any way you can find out if they carry the speed freaks? I think they might be a walmart special and they have all been cleared off the shelves for the season. If I cant find em I'll just switch arrows again, might try some eastons or something.
