Caught This On One Of My Trail Cameras

l have never seen a groundhog climb a tree until now. Not sure why it posted upside down??

One of my neighbor's dogs ran one up a tree. He held on as long as he could but didn't last long after he hit the ground.

I had one go up a tree in backyard when dog got him hung up. I was shocked, but did a little research and read they could.
Thought it was crazy as well.

Best I remember they are in the squirrel family actually.

I have seen a couple climb trees and they do pretty good.

They are. Groundhogs are very good tree climbers.
