Chattanooga guide

Sir Richard Simms and his Merry Band of Fishing Guides
may be found at the above link :)

By the way, Simms is a wildlife biologist,
a TV/media producer/executive, accomplished writer,
was a TWRA wildlife officer for many years,
before the allure of professionally guiding fisherman
won out.

While he comes highly recommended for TN River Smallmouth,
his true claim to fame is Big River Gar, and he knows all the best gar holes.
Ruger (and others) drive all the way from West TN just to be put on those gar holes.

Rumor has it though, he has taught all the other guides his best secrets,
they have then learned a bit on their own, and now
they are even better guides than Sir Richard Simms.

The first trip I made with him we ended up gar fishing for a while lol
Absolute BLAST!!!
That was after we caught over 400# of catfish that the biggest was 50# and several messes of bream.
All in the same weekend.

There is not a better group of guides, period.

Yes it is!
I caught my first TN River Gar while being guided by Sir Richard Simms a few years ago.
Ruger would rather go there for gar now than brim!

Also, if you prefer fly fishing, ask about the "Carp on the Fly" Early Spring Special.
Next best thing to catching Big Tarpon on the fly in salt water.
(Was that SCN who said that?)

Carp on a flyrod is a blast. I also landed about a 10lb carp on a cane pole one time. That is hands down the hardest fight with a fish I haver ever had in my life. I was luckily wading the river and was able to chase it up and down the bank for a half hour until I was able to land it.

You know any, who have their USCG Captains' License?

I know some "capable" of getting it, if they don't already have!
Unfortunately, most of these wouldn't be willing to give up their own personal fishing adventures even for a very premium pay package as a professional guide.
That's the Catch 22.

Two (on here) that could actually fit in and work well with your service might be
"7mm08" & "SCN". Both are now retired,
and if they don't already have the USCG Captains' License,
they're easily capable.
"Kirk" would be another good candidate.

Just about anybody is "capable," but that's a far cry from spending the time, effort and expense of doing it.
