Chufa?

Has anyone planted chufa and if so, how did it do? I tried it back several years ago with fair results. Don't think I had the optimum soil for it to grow, more clay than sand. Let me know your stories.

I tried once but failed to apply post emergent. It did come up well but didn't mature. Total failure. Lot of work needed for a good plot.

Chufa likes sandier soil, tried it once, but still rank plain old clovers higher in wildlife value and year-round turkey use.
