Just an idea I have tried with great results. We love Claussen Kosher dill pickles. When we empty a jar I keep the juice and spice in the jar in the fridge. Add some sliced cucumber onion red bell pepper and 2 dried cayenne peppers. Week later really close Claussen pickle with onions and red bell pepper. Great with soup beans or on a fat samich.

We used to mix up a bowl of vinegar, salt, sugar, black pepper and add cukes, and onions. Now we just save the juice and spice for the mix..add some sugar if desired..we add the 2 dry cayenne's.

Aint tried with any other brand of pickles though.
