Simple curiosity...do you clean your bore between shots during the season?

I start the season with a super mirror shiny bore and stoopid killer pattern but sometimes simply forget after a deadbird or 2 that I need to keep it clean to maintain that optimal pattern.

Haha, to say the least no. I go into th seasoning a sparkling bore, by the end it's a disaster. I've got a voodoo thing that if I clean it after it's "on" it may not be "on" after I clean it. It makes no sense, and I'm ashamed :(

Guilty here too...just outrught negligent on my part.

Depends how you sighted it in. At one time I had a shotgun that shot best on a clean barrel so I did. Currently my guns stay pretty consistent till about 5 shots so I now just wait till the end of the season

No. I sometimes run a bore snake through after a couple of shots (if bored and in my shop during April), and I always break gun down (blow it out with compressed air and lightly oil) after I hunt in the rain, which is rare, but it does happen at least a couple of times every spring.

I start out with a mirror finish and run a bore snake after every shot.

Same, my pattern starts to diminish after 3 or 4 shots in my current shotgun I carry

No offense, but I thought this was a joke when I opened the thread.

I knew turkey hunters were an odd lot, but I guess I'm not as bad as I thought :D !

Maybe it is just instilled (or beat) in my brain to clean my weapons every time I come out of the field. I do it before I shower most of the time.

When I had a place to turkey hunt I never fired over 3 or 4 shots a season. The only time I cleaned my shotgun prior to the end of the season was if and when I hunted in rainy weather.

It will be a cold day in h#ll before I find it necessary to clean my "shotgun" barrel in between shots, regardless of what the over excessive gun nuts might say. I am fortunate enough to be able to hunt every day of the season. My shotgun, along with my vest,(minus calls) stays in my truck, fully loaded, barrel down, leaned between the center console and my passenger seat, for the entire Spring Turkey Season, whether I'm in the woods or not. If it gets bad wet, I dry it and might wipe it down with an oil rag. After season, it gets bore snaked, action blown out with air chuck, wiped down, and put back in house. I switch out between my old school 835 ulti mag and my 870 wingmaster magnum throughout the season.

I deep clean my before season and bore snake between shots.
Started this a couple years ago. Before that my barrel hadn't been touched since 2001 [emoji15]

Never clean it until after season or after a rainy day.

I'd hate to be some of y'all on a dove shoot haha
