Cleaning brass?

I used to use a vibratory unit with crushed walnut media(lizard bedding from Pet Depot)but now use a Thumler Tumbler with stainless steel pin media. I like it a lot better. No plugged flash holes and the brass is as clean inside as outside. 1 gallon of water and a couple squirts of dish washing liquid and it's ready.

DA, you maybe need to check into the stainless or ceramic media, it works wonder inside and outside the cases

I use the larger ceramic for my .40-65 blackpowder cases and once they are tumbled I do even have to touch the primer pockets

you can not use the larger ceramic media on any bottle neck type cases, it will hang up inside the case

MUP---W C has it down pat. Absolutely the stainless steel media is the way to go. Inside, outside, no bridging, pistol, centerfire, works on everything, do not get anything except the stainless steel pins, the round BB kind is ineffective.

You pay more now, yes, but SS doesn't wear out. Water, a squirt of Dawn, a sprinkle of lemishine(canning food citric additive, any concentrated citric acid will do, I have heard Kool-aid works) turn on the tumbler, wait 2 hours, maybe 4 first time around, and get your sunglasses on, the results will blind you.

As a newbie reloader, go to this link and look around. It is as good as TNDeer is for reloaders. WWW.Handloadersbench.com
