Had 4 different Gobblers sounding off yesterday morning, but they would not come to us. We worked one for 30-45 minutes, but he was intent on staying about 50 yards in the woods, moving along a bench. Dont know if he had hens with him or what. Yesterday evening we were sit up on a food plot below where they have been roosting. About 7:30 we had 8 jakes come out about 60 yards and began moving away. We were finally able to work them to within 47 yards before they became nervous and backed off. 5 more yards and BAM. oh well. We then had 2 gobbling and drumming about 75-100 yards off, at the base of the hill. one would gobble at every call while he was walking up the hill to the roost. It was a hot day, but had a great time.
