Coaches hot seat

      they give #1 one more year!

I realize that coaches are measured by their Win /Loss records but but Jim Harbaugh, Jim McElwain and Jimbo Fisher are all really good coaches and you are going to be hard pressed to IMHO to find a better crust of coach to come in and fill their shoes. Harbaugh Has only been there since 2015. The man needs a chance to get in the groove and produce some results. Ditto on Jim McElwain. Fighting a uphill Battle with 9 of his starters Benched and doing a admirable job all things considered.

I guess you could make a argument for Jimbo Fisher but his record has not been all that bad. Its actually better than the two mentioned above . But he hasent produced the big ticket in the last few years.

All three should Stay IMHO.

This...... :)

I guess that's a list you don't want to be #1 on..... :)

Guy on Finebaum today was saying, the death threats Mcelwain was talking about seemed to be fabricated and the ad and Mcelwain are not being very honest with each other. Also said gator fans were the most spoiled fans on earth! They had so much in such small time ! Lol

Jim Harbaugh may be the most overrated "big hire" coach in history. He is 6-5 in his last 11 games. You know who else is 6-5 in their last 11 games? Butch Jones. He's also has the exact same record at Michigan through 33 games as Brady Hoke, 25-7 who was fired in 2014 with a final record of 31–20 .
Yes, he has been there since 2015, and has nothing to show for it? His team are just 1-4 against top rivals Michigan State and Ohio State and has never finished a season better than tied for third in the Big Ten East. In his 3rd year still hasn't peven played for the Conference Championship. He's probably looking at another mediocre 8-4 this year.

Here are what some other top coaches did in year two or three at their respective schools: Nick Saban went 26-1 in years two and three at Alabama, notching a national championship in year three. Urban Meyer won national titles in year two at Florida and year three at Ohio State and has come in first or tied for first all five years at Ohio State. James Franklin won the Big Ten in year three at Penn State and won nine games in years two and three at freaking Vanderbilt. Chris Petersen won the Pac 12 in year three at Washington. Jimbo Fisher won the ACC in year three and Dabo Swinney won his division in year three at Clemson.

I agree with your assessment of Harbaugh. But no way he's on the hot seat and especially not in the top 10! Same for McIlwain. Next year maybe, but not now. The list is pretty ridiculous. Matt Rhule? Baylor was criminal U. Chris Ash? Rutgers just won two straight Big Ten games. He likely won't win anymore this year, but no way he's on any hot seat. Fickel? It's his first season.

Well, Fisher is not on the hot seat yet. In his 7 years as head coach at FSU, his record is 78-17. In that same time period, Nick Saban is 86-11.
Only 6 more losses than Saban for Fisher.
Fisher not on the hot seat yet.
