Cold front

I'd rather it be cool in the mornings than warmer, stickier with higher humidity. I'll be in the woods when I can, and enjoy the last round of cooler temps until this fall.

I predict they will continue to NOT gobble... just like if we had a warm front come through.... or if were raining... or if it were sunny... I guess that means no change...

I'm setting my alarm to find out, hopefully I don't hit the snooze...

haha that's a true statement there.

In the past I've had better hunts on cool mornings, generally speaking.

One of my best late season hunts was mid 30s on the last day of April, called in the most lonely limb hanger from several hundred yards away, and there was still frost on the ground when I got back to camp.

In the end there is no telling what the turkeys will be doing. The only way to find out is to go hunt all weekend. Good luck

Just be glad you can still hunt. Its killing me I have this weekend off and our season in MS is closed and NE closed to NR (and I'm not yet ready to fly commercially)

Going to use this weekend to just scout some other public lands in MS to have in my back pocket for next year.

X2

If the wind is calm I expect it to be the best gobbling day of the season.
I'll be guiding tomor on a place that hasn't been hunted all year.

Silent this morning where I was at in Cumberland Furnace, Dickson County. Owls and crows were active.

Haven't heard the first gobble. I've hit 4 spots on.the plateau so far.

It's a beautiful morning.

Been hearing them, one is on a death mission! But of course he is on a place that I can't go! Hopefully one cranks up where I am at in a little bit.

Heard the first gobble in over 3 weeks this morning. Wasn't hunting just feeding the chickens, but it was good to hear.

Several Facebook "friends" had luck this morning. It felt good to be out, lots of frost on my truck too.
We absolutely hammered the turkeys this year.

Yesterday was the best gobbling day I've heard but they were all deep on private. Like the closest was about a half mile. Heard 5 or 6 and they were still gobbling when I came out at 1030. Had to much work to do today and they were calling for high winds on the mountain but a few buddies had success on farms. Mountain was snow covered this morning
