ok, let's get the arrows flying. :D
anyone can join in. any one can call a shot. you don't have to post a pic but at least tell us how you hit.

this one was broadside, 12 steps. about 4" higher than I wanted.

HA !!! looks like a pretty good shot to me, let me get the flashlight & put some shoes on & I'll get back to you in a few minutes. (sounds kind of like I gotta run to the outhouse)

Well....with a flashlight propped up and 12 steps away the shot came in at (??) 7 inches high & left.

Was gonna try & learn to post pics but cant find a USB cord & it wont let me use just the card from the camera, plus I'm "puter" illiterate, try again another time.

Fun stuff.

Hope to get mine back this week from bow shop. Talked to someone about buying a round bale of hay , maybe I could hit that from 5 feet (((lol)))

What's your bow doing in the shop?
You don't want a big bale. Arrows have been lost in those.

Trust me. Hard to pick a spot in the dark. There are 3 pigs in south Texas that will agree with me.

believe it or not the string on the samick was already coming unserved , I read some revies on it and it was highly recommend to replace it right off the bat , so I am having a string made , nock set , brace height adjusted , bear hair rest put on . 6 arrows fletched . I didn't have to leave it but it's a good drive from the house so I left so he could have it ready to go when I returned . I didn't think about losing the arrow in it , I was just going for something I might could hit lol , maybe I'll go to some square bales for a back stop and set my targets in front of them instead.

thats a good shot, if would have been 4 in lower you would have been disappointed with no turkey dinner

that's true. I was picking a spot lower, which I shouldn't do on 3d target. I have trouble with my 'aim small, miss small' sometimes.
I've heard the saying for turkeys, ' hit'em high, watch'em die, hit'em low, watch'em go".

Grabbed my bow as soon as I walked in the door, still had a little light left so took advantage of it.

The cold shot of the day was from back steps, probably about 14 paces from the target, off to the left by about 9 inches but elevation was on the money, still no cigar.

just for practice I took 3 more shots before going in the house, first 2 were within a couple inches of perfect, the third was around 3 inches off, but all would've been kill shots tho, if I could only get a deer in at 12 steps.

I have noticed that if I don't do 2 things, I will shoot left. 1st, anchor correctly. 2nd focus.
I didn't get any shooting in today.

I'm bad to rush the shot, need to take a breath, slow down & think my way thru it.

Does it matter the yardage from where the shot is taken from or just from wherever you want ??

Just take it from where you want. No contest. No pressure. All in fun. Taking different angle changes things up.
Biggest thing is to promote practice. If someone needs to take the same shot every day to work on their form, that's ok too.

missed today. about the same distance. head shot. first was to the left. I'm trying out a shield cut feather and comparing it to a banana cut.

Didnt shoot today, but your correct about it pushing you to practice, no work tomorrow so in between loads clothes in the washer I'm go'n stump shooting, even if its just a few minutes at a time.

This game has motivated me to practice more.

go the bow back today, 5 steps , using glove with split finger. this is my 1 shot at home with a recurve and 3 time ever shooting a recurve.it was a blast to shoot and i believe i am addicted lol.

HA !!! glad you finally got in hand & shoot'n, its serious fun, takes practice but well worth it, good stuff man.

Cold shot...barely hit the edge of the target, total miss.

Figured to try the new tab, I guess where being unfamilar with it just threw me entirely out of whack, took the shot from the back steps like before & at that angle the arrow struck the side my target frame then tail whipped the back half onto the edge of the corner & broke the arrow in two about 6 inches below the fletching, I shouldve known better, didnt test drive it before hand.

At least I can use the back piece to make one of those cool ink pens you see at the archery shops, always wanted one anyways.
