With many states hitting record single day highs and college teams already having players testing positive (28 positives on the clemson team) do you think there will be games? I watch a sports show on my first stick called sports edge and 3 of the 4 commentators felt it was unlikely this yr, especially with some colleges already cancelling fall classes in person. The BLM crap aint helping either. I hate the thought of a fall without football, but i think at this stage in the gAme, its a definite possibility. What about yall?

Don't think it is going to happen. I think that we may have to accept that the Wuhan Flu may be here to stay for a few years minimum. It might just become another strain of the flu that happens every year. So I think that we may just have to accept that people will have this virus and go in with life. If we don't accept this then what we are experiencing noway be the new norm. But honestly I also realized that since there has been no sports in so long I don't miss it has much has I thought I would. Now with all the politics getting involved in college athletics don't really plan on watching anyways if they do play. Just more time for deer and turkey hunting and time with family and chores around the house.

As much boot licking the coaches and AD's are doing lately I hope it never comes back.
Well said, it's amazing the number of spineless folks in this country and the amount of caving many have done in the last few weeks. It is also amazing at the amount of "entertainment and other things" said conservatives partake in to fund and fuel those whose beliefs are in direct opposition of their own. Every choice/decision you make in life has a second and third order ripple effect after the fact. Follow the money, many times you are funding those who despise you and what you stand for.

AS much as it would pain me to go a year without seeing my beloved ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE its really starting to piss me off that the SEC and the NCAA are starting to jump on the bandwagon of the bootlicking to all these political issues. Threatening Mississippi with taking down the flag was reprehensible IMHO. Both the SEC and NCAA need a wake up call! I would hate not having a season but I just don't see it happening this year.

I can't stand Paul Finebaum but I was scanning the channels last night and ran across his show and tuned in for a little while. The subject was exactly this and he had a call in segment. Most everyone calling in had the same opinion that it was not going to happen. That players would test positive on a Thursday before the game and that would be that. Or we would get 8 weeks into the season and hit a wall where a large chunk of the NCAA had covid and have to cancel the rest of the season. I am not sure you snowflakes could handle ALABAMA putting a astrick * next to A National Championship Mid Season :)

Heck, some colleges might not survive the year without the income generated by sports(mostly football).
While that's true the rest of he nation has had to live without the income .... and we seem to be doing just ok. I am sure they will do just fine.

Yeah, I don't think it will happen. But has I said earlier when they cancelled March Madness I was upset because I am a big Kentucky basket fan. But I did get a lot more done around the house and with the wife. Also more time in the woods hunting turkey. And with the politics getting involved in the NCAA now I will not be watching even if they do come back.

You know, the timing may be perfect to miss a season. Take the spotlight away from the thugs for a year.

I agree.

I think the almighty dollar might get them playing this year though.
Honestly I am to the point I don't even care.

As of Yesterday(7/23) the PAC 12 conference announced a plan to push the start of the season back to September 19th and feature a 10 game conference schedule. Joining the SEC, Big 12, ACC, and Big 10 in finally addressing plans to play this season.

I think they might try and maybe get a couple games in but that's it if at all. But I am just cut the cord and got rid of cable so I am not watching anyways. Can't deal with all the politics that have already crept into the college ranks. Now they want to rename Rupp Arena and take down statues of Bear Bryant. Not spending a dime on college or pro sports anymore. If they go belly up not my problem.
