A successful fair catch made inside the receiving team's own 25-yard line would result in a touchback and the ball would be placed at the 25. Just like catches in the endzone and a player takes a knee. Now that can be done anywhere inside the 25 and the ball placed at the 25. (No more pinning your opponent deep)

I don't like this change at all.

They will eventually do away with the kickoff and start giving everybody the ball at the 40. I say you will rarely see anyone running a kick out.

returners are always bringing balls out of the end zone, so why would they fair catch it at the 5. the only thing that helps is if a team sky kicks the ball and a lot of time it doesn't make it to the 25. so i don't think its as big a deal as it sounds

agree, I can see kickoffs going away

If they are going to make a rule change, why not replace the kickoff with a punt.
Team that wins the coin toss can choose to punt or receive. Treat the play like it's 4th and 10. The punting team can choose to punt, fake punt, or go for the first down.

they use to kickoff from the 40 but there were to many touchbacks so they moved it to the 35. just move it back to the 40 :bash:
