Well went out for the first time to the woods this season. I set up my blind in a nice little meadow and as always my bowtech was the weapon of choice for this adventure. Well shooting light told around and i hit the box call. Immediately had a bird gobble. We did the old song and dance and after a few wary deer moved through the old Tom made his move. I decided on a body shot instead of going for the head. This was a mistake. I hit him about 2 inches lower than i wanted. I trailed his blood for 150yards before the blood trail stopped. Not the ending i had in mind. Looks like it's turkey 1 Hunter 0

Go where last found blood and walk in straight line and check every bush, tree top, etc. Have found a couple that way. One was buried so deep in thorn bush I could only see tip of one wing feather.

Dang, sorry about the loss. I've always wanted to kill one with a bow but its dang hard. Kudos for hitting him!

That is a bummer. Had a similar experience opening morning. Gotta get back out to get that bitter taste out of mouth. Did the arrow stay in him?If so, sure he's down somewhere.

No it was a clean pass through... looked for him all day with no luck. Really sucks that was the biggest bird I've ever seen.
