Component Prices

These days, $89 for the 41's seems to be about the norm. The hazmat and shipping costs are definitely going up though. Grafs held theirs low for the longest, but they went up recently. Imagine prices will climb more though, shipping costs on everything will go up thanks to bonehead biden.

I ran low on small pistol primers and thought, how could I run low the way we chew through rounds in those 9's?

SO, I took care of it by buying more than I thought I needed and then some.

Just saw some handheld priming tools at prices that made me gag.

Makes my RCBS auto-prime look like I stole it. And I suffered hand cramps that had me prep a bowl of ice before I started priming because I thought the RCBS tool was over priced.

Historically, run-ups like what we see today have occurred and over a relatively short period of time sink back down to the pre-pandemic level. I hope.

What do you guys consider as being stocked on hard to find items such as primers? I see comments from reloaders on various forums that they are stocked for life. I feel pretty good with my current supply of various sizes and types of primers considering the way I'm able to shoot. Anytime I see the phrase "stocked for life" it sparks my curiosity.

Stocked for life would have different meanings for a guy in his 30s and a guy in his 70s. It would also mean much different for a guy that shoots 1000 a year and a guy that shoots a 1000 a month. If prices ever drop, 40-50k assorted primers would be a decent start

It would be enough to leave a crater where the house is if it ever caught fire
