So I've been waiting on limbs to come in on my bowtech since mid august. I've already missed opening weekend in which 3 deer were killed on my lease so I can't hold out any longer. My options are my dad's pse compound, or my grand dads horton crossbow. I'm leanin towards the pse eventho I'll only have friday afternoon to shoot it before the evenin hunt. What's everybody's thoughts? I'm thinkin I need a lucky charm.

Well, I wasn't "proficient" after one afternoon with my compound. Took a lot more practice. Personally, I think you should go with the xbox. You'll get a lot better with it a lot quicker.

Honestly I won't be comfortable with either. I've killed a few with the PSE about 4 years ago but haven't shot it since, and I don't really feel comfortable taking a crossbow up in my climber. JW, I think you misunderstood, it's crossbow not xbox. Mr. Bro, I may be hittin you up on that if bowtech doesn't get it together soon. I'd rather have the 70's tho cause the 60's are under warranty so i should get them anyways. Rather pay like 65 for a used set of limbs tho, new ones run about 80

I've never hunted with a cross bow but the only way I would take it is I didn't feel confident enough with the PSE. I've only held them and the just seem to big and awkward for me to want to carry through the woods.

Oh No, Not a x-bow post in the compound forum!

:D

Yes E.D. you're right, this is not a x-bow post. This is a post by a compound hunter in a sticky situation. Thanks for the wise crack though, no topic is good without a smart@$$
