Rainy and cool tomorrow morning. Temps actually falling/holding most of the day in the low 50's. Winds 15mph or so. Sun coming out around noon. Clue this novice in on what would be the best technique to use in such conditions? Fields/clearings after the rain stops is my thought but I'm really just guessing. I won't be able to get in the woods till around 9 either so factor that in for me.

They'll wanna dry out, slow to get started, and lots of preening. My guess is things get better as the day goes on. My plan is to just take it slow and troll...poking along and hoping one fires up.

Good luck.

They gobbled good here on the roost but then that was it. I heard one gobble at a crow about 8 and rushed to him and did some light calling. Nothing! 10 minutes call some more and he pops out in a clover lane at 80 yards. Stands there and struts for 2 minutes and sees no hens and walks off. He smart. I think i try him again tomorrow. LOL
