I've been practicing at low level using my climbing stand. Here is my question: what do y'all use to connect the platform to the seat on the climber? The instructions with my Summit Viper advise to clip the backstrap to the yoke of the platform, but the problem is the length of the nylon strap with the buckle is not long enough to wrap around and connect at that point. Instead, I have to connect it next to the yoke and if the platform did fall, it would likely fall sideways making it difficult to recover I guess. Any suggestions?

I use 2 peices of 40" rope on each side..

Mine is set at forty for the reason, that I like to lean against my seat. 40 is about right for the height I like the seat to be on my back.

If you use straps with buckles, like the buckles on a backpack, and attach them at the end of the sections, one on each side, then once you're at shooting height you can cinch down the straps and it will make the seat section extra sturdy for when you're standing and want to lean on the top section.

Read pages 7 and 8 . You should have enough slack in the carrying straps used as a tether to attach the two sections together , if you adjust them properly as you would for carrying the stand.

I can connect the two together, but if the platform fell, it would fall sideways. I have never fallen out of a tree cause the platform did not bite the tree, but I would think it would be hard to regroup if it was leaning sideways.

The platform would not fall sideways if connected in the center as shown in the pictures . You do not have it connected properly if it is falling sideways .
