Ok so we all know that hunting is usually good right after a big rain/front. So how do you think the deer will react to this constant on and off rain??

I know the doves come out like crazy between the showers.

I think they will be on the move between showers. At this point I just want to get after it. The nice thing is the wet ground will help to make your entry and exit from the woods quieter. That said it will be more difficult to hear deer coming as well.

Yup....I hate not being able to hear them walking around. In rains like these (on and off), scent will be less of a factor than a normal day. I'm hoping the rain holds off till about 11 that morning though!...atleast!

I won't hunt in a hard rain because of the chance of the rain washing a blood trail away , but I will hunt in a light shower in an area with good visibility .
I don't think deer move much during a heavy downpour , but I have seen them move right after a shower .

I think the deer already know the gig is about up. There are several fields we go by on our way to church, that every time you go by there are at least 20 in them. Sunday morning the people that hunt one place, were parked there either scouting or hanging stands. That evening there wasn't a single deer out there.

I think they've already hit their underground tunnels and will refuse to come out until dark or the rut.

I'm like Radar, I'll hunt in a little bit of rain, but I will not hunt if it's pouring. I'll also limit my shots during light showers to 20 yards so hopefully I see the deer fall. But there's some thickets and overgrowth where I'll be hunting this year that may be the deciding factor of whether I go or not.
