Contest Q&A

Re: Contest Q&A

In the event, I'm sure it will happen, as someone bags a bird is it OK to post images of the days hunt, 2 or 3 good days. As I understand we pick the best bird of our team and then enter it for the challange, with all pertinent measurements for the bird we select or do it for all images posted?

Re: Contest Q&A

If I recall our "best bird" counts. Do we post measurements as we harvest or wait until the end to determine our personal best bird to post pics and measurements?

Re: Contest Q&A

Frank G & hcdeerman,

I am hoping we can get some more subforums added so each team will have a "private" subforum to post their stuff in.....

Otherwise, for general hunts you can just post in the contest forum, the main turkey forum, or both if you wish.

In the end, each team will take their 7 (as it stands right now) top scoring birds and add them up for a total team contest score.

You will take pics to post with every entry UNLESS the recent turkey taken does not score higher than the current best bird you have entered. You can do a score calculation before you take pics to find this out. IF it DOES score higher, submit it with proper documenting photos and have the word UPGRADE preceding the pics or at the beginning of the post to draw attention it is an upgrade.

Re: Contest Q&A

I was looking at the rules and did not see where you had to post a picture of the kill tag. I think this would be something that needs to be done.

If a hunter uses the tele-check, they would only have a Temp. Auth. #.... so not much to show..... Besides, something like that may give personal information to the wrong people.

I will post some example pics in the coming days.... Having a hunter hold the "score" sheet with the date and other required info should keep things honest enough.....

Re: Contest Q&A

personally I would not like posting with a kill tag. don't want that on the internet.. personally I think people are honest enough on here for that not to be a problem. but if it becomes a rule ill abide by it.

No issue, as I stated why above....

X) Contest score will be calculated by using the total team score minus the smallest bird scored by
a member

What if the team only scores 6-7 bird? Does that mean only 5 or 6 birds will scored?

6 birds-1 is 5 bird score
7 birds-1 is 6 bird score
Ultimatley if all teams entered 8 birds this wouldnt matter but im not sure if that will be the case

As it stands right now, if a team kills 7 or less birds, they will enter whatever they have scored/entered in the contest.... whether it is 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5 ,6 , or even 7. If a team comes up short of the 7 then they will just be short a bird(s) and their team score will reflect such. The most birds used for the contest will be the 7 highest scoring birds taken per team (again as it stands right now with 8 members per team).

I worded the rule like I did because if we need to bump the teams up to 9 players each, then the rule phrase is still usable. When all interested members are placed I will add the numbers in the rule to make it specific.

Re: Contest Q&A

Yes sir, just know what units the scale is measuring in.... if the reading needs converting or not to get your score calculated.
