Cooking BBQ to Sell?

1 sick customer will bankrupt you even if your innocent.insurance is a have to have these days
 
I did casually. When I would cook, I would take up orders from people I know and worked with and would cook their orders while cooking mine. I made a thousand bucks or so a year for the few years I did it. I would only cook if I had a cooker full and just did it a few times a year when I was going to be cooking me something anyway. I would sell ribs, chickens, butts or briskets.

This is basically what I was considering, thanks. Would be nice to take orders and load the cooker up. Would only consider family and coworkers, not general public. Also no advertising.

It was worth it. To me, it's no different cooking 1 butt or 20. They have to cook same amount of time. If I'm cooking anyway, try to fill that cooker up.

Make you a little BBQ sauce to go with it and pre sell them. I didn't sell any partials or pounds. It was whole briskets, whole butts, whole chickens and full racks of ribs only. You can pay for all your supplies and your meat and make $3-400 on top of that every time you cook, depending on how much your cooking.
