Couple of questions

First I don't know anything about traditional archery , but have long wanted to try it for kicks . So I been looking around for a decent bow at a fair price, long story short I found a bear Montana long bow and a sky eagle recurve , I was hopeing y'all would give me some input on both bows such as. Recurve vs longbow for newbie ? Has any one ever owned or shoot the bear or sky bow ? What's a fair price on each of them ? And what ever else I missing I need to know ! Thanks a lot .
 
I don't know anything about longbows, but I've been pretty impressed with all of the Sky recurves I've shot. I have an older takedown Hawk that's a great shooter. Looks like you can get a brand new Eagle for $400, but not sure if they're like the old ones.
 
Go with a recurve. To me they are easier to shoot. Go to the big auction site and get a bear grizzly or a howatt hunter type of bow. 58-62" amo and a draw weight of 45lbs. If you don't like it, you can put if back up and get what you paid for it. Most likely you will become addicted, sell the compound, and become obsessive about archery again!

ditto. recurves are easier to learn. most recurves' grip help with being consistant. most longbow grips are more like holding a piece of pipe and you have to pay attention to your grip.
