Yes free choice. The bucket is there to keep the coons off. I know it is hard to believe but I have tried everything and that plastic bucket has worked 100% on my free choice feeders. I have 22 of them. The coons just eat the protein spillage on the ground. My buddy came up with the idea and I was highly skeptical but had to eat crow. I think this is the 4th year we have had them on the feeders.

That's a great idea. Have not seen that but I'm in the process of building some very similar feeders, I think i'll give that a shot. I noticed you have the pvc rather than the shark teeth. I suppose I need to give that idea a shot as well... Thanks rtp

The pvc did not work well. They eventually figured it out. I just have not gotten around to taking it off all the feeders yet. I have heard the shark teeth work well but are expensive and some guys have gotten pretty cut up when they accidently brush up against them.
