Used it last year. This year I went to turn it on the arrow keys don't work and there are white lines on the screen. The camera requires you to enter a password before setting up options. When the arrow keys don't work, you cannot enter your password, therefore your camera is useless. Im about to test out their customer service. Any chance Ill get any help?

So far they are offering 30% off a new one. If that is all I get, I will hang up the hat with Covert. Those cameras are way to expensive to not make it past a year. They are claiming it will cost more to fix it than it is worth.

I hate to hear that and can totally understand your frustration at this point. If you purchase another China made camera, I would give the Browning Dark Ops a hard look. They can typically be had for $100-130 price point online, depending on what year model you get. At the end of the day, it is all a crap shoot with China manufacturing and quality control, or lack thereof. Good luck with your way forward.

I'd call back again tomorrow. Get a different person. Maybe a supervisor and I bet it gets replaced.

I'd definitely give this a shot. I take this approach on just about anything these days.

It worked for me.

I had one with the same problem. Took an electronic duster and sprayed the buttons good. Then hold the buttons down real hard. It worked for me.

^^This^^
I have an HD 60 code black covert cam that is having issues with the slide switch. I called covert CS and was told the same thing. I will use it until it stops working and replace it with either a browning dark ops or spec ops. Not another covert.

Tried again and got the same story. Very frustrating. I have a $100 Moultrie going on 7 years that still works. Its only 3 Mp but hey it works. I would say I am DONE with Covert.

I had the same issue with my 2013 covert. The offered to get me the new 12.0 for $150 if I sent my 2013 in. Shipped my bad one on thursday, had my new one by Monday. The new 12.0 is great, much cheaper per month, dont have to walk into an AT&T store, and I can remotely control all of the settings using their app. The new cams have improved battery life and reception. Ive had nothing but positive experiences with their customer service.

Just sent one back to Moultrie after a whole week of use. I am hopeful, but I ain't holing my breath, you shouldn't either.

I checked again today for a third time and 30% off is the best they can do. Very frustrating. I guess that is the disadvantage to buying a camera after season. You use it the following fall, then the warranty is up, therefore you only get one seasons use out of it. Bummer. Rant over.

The same would be true if you bought in September. It would be good for that season and warranty up before next season. I do not think you made a bad move by purchasing after season, you just got bit by the "Made in China" bug that gets so many hunters each year. It is an inherent risk you take when purchasing any China made trail camera these days, or anything else made there.

2016 models carry a 2 year warranty. No help now but I think its better than most other warranties.
I believe with your 30% discount you could get an MP8 Black for about $100. With 2 years on it.

In order to get the 30% do you have to send the old one back? I guess I have a hard time even considering spending $100 on a new camera that I am so let down by. I do understand however, it could happen to any camera brand/make/model if I got a lemon.

I was given the discount on a 3year old model that only needed a battery clip. No I was not required to send it to them.
