Finally got back in a stand this morning on day 6 of having covid. Feeling a little foggy this morning, but went anyway.

Saw a couple does just before legal shooting light. About 7:40 catch movement in the tall grass, looks like a coyote. Lose it, let out a few lip squeaks, get my rifle up and nothing. Grab my kiyi call out of my pocket, hit it and bingo there he is, but still in the grass and down the hill. Found him in the scope at about 100 yards out, lost him when I squeezed. Guess it's time to reload some more of these 6.5's.

It's amazing that a bullet that fast has time to expand in something so thin.

Glad you are feeling well enough to get back out there! When I had covid a year ago, I hunted every morn and eve, but no way I was well enough to climb a tree!
Sitting in a steel homemade permanent ladder stand, back in the same stand now with a wind in my face and light mist. I wish I could have gotten out a few times earlier this week, there was some good weather for deer, but was coughing just a bit too much.

Yep, I am a fan of these eldx bullets. I will be loading some in 6mm arc if I can ever get my hands on some brass
