Was shooting my bow today and when I drew it back I glanced at the cables by the cable slide, and noticed that it looked gummed up with alot of wax.So I let it off and notcied that the string is freying and coming apart..I mean big time as you can see by the pic..This is a bucknasty $70 string I bought in April...Burns me up that it is doing this already..But upon further inspection,I found that my cable slide is wore a good bit and that the cables are touching..But,after reviewing several pictures of my bow online on bass pro,it seems that my cables are on wrong..They are flip flopped. The 1 cable should be on top when they make an "X" or cross and instead its on the bottom...If that makes sense...So im out a $70 string and season is 30days away..What do I do?? DO I contact bucknasty and let him know and see if he might be able to help me out??

I have no idea what caused it to do this,I don't know if it was the wore out cable slider or if it was because the string was installed wrong..Or both..I don't know how they was to be installed,so I had it installed...Im gonna take it to a new bow shop I use and let them see if its installed wrong,IM 90% sure it is on wrong..Then im gonna call the bow shop that installed it and let them hear $70 worth of un happyness...Cause I am one unhappy camper at the moment..I had no idea that cables sliders wore out,I never heard of it..But now I know...If I had known,i'd been checking it all along..Do you think bucknasty might help out,or am I at fault???

Hate that cecil! I would contact Bucknasty, even though it appears it is not the string's fault asking will not cost you anything. Regardless of what you do, get it fixed as quick as you can--you still have time to get everything stretched and tuned before season starts.

Give him a call, I think he might help you out even if they were put on wrong. I would say if they are on there wrong that is what cause the wear on your slide. If you know for sure they are on wrong. I would see about getting that shop to pay me for that set and install the new set free. Just watch and make sure they do it right.

Yes, I think it is installed wrong. My string goes underneath the cable when they make the X. I would contact the shop that put them on and make them pay for a new string and cable slide.

Astring that doesnt last at least a few years is NOT a good thing....something is wrong....prob installation.
