Busted up a flock of turkeys once while riding my horse in the fall. Started heading back to the house to get the bow when I noticed a hen running into the fence I was riding parallel to. Rode up next to her, dove off my horse and tackled her! :D She gave me a pretty good whoopin' but I finally grabbed her neck and it was over. While riding back home with the bird laid accross my lap I was thinking, " Nobody's gonna believe this!" Had another chance to do the same thing last fall with a longbeard, but as I got next to him his spurs caught my eye. That, and the combination of being too much fun to call them in in the spring caused me to give him a pass. What's your craziest turkey kill?

I checked her in and when the lady asked what weapon I used I said,"My hands." Her eyes about popped out of her head!

I let one get so close I spit copenhagen in his eyes so I could blind him. I couldn't get to my pocket-knife so I had to use his own spurs to stab him in the head. This method works so well that I aint took a weapon turkey hunting since.

Copenhagen should sponsor you after that one. Copenhagen "It Satisfies"

First year turkey season was open in Hawkins Co. a man brought one into a check station. The bird was still alive and all tied up. I ask the man why it was like that. He said his dogs had treed it behind his house. Since he didn't have a shotgun he climbed the tree and caught it.

Legal equipment: shotguns and archery equipment.

ya know, that makes me think and think and think
modern times!
the most primitive of hunting skill illegal!
Bare hands should be legal if the season is open.
What ya gunna do when u run out of powder and bullets with a down/wounded deer- that means even using ur knife to end the suffering is Ellegal!
Dude

Dude

I've had to finish plenty of deer with my knife, and turkeys with my foot, so I guess I'm an outlaw! :)

I have had many crazy hunts and I have seen many of crazy kills.
One the crazy hunts i have had was a few years ago. Me and a buddy of mine started out in a ditch trying to ease up on some birds. The Ditch ran out and the longbeards were out about 300 yards and no cover. Not knowing at all if we had a chance but dang it we had to try. He said to me how bad you want a longbeard? I said pretty bad.
So we took off crawling right through cow poop.

Didn't get no bird but I sure smelt good.

I got a crazy kill story but I will save it for later.

I took a friend hunting a couple years ago and I had him two gobblers coming fast. I told him he could shoot when they crossed the woods road, about 30 yards away. As they crossed the road, he didn't shoot. He let the first one get four steps from us when he finally shot. The wad hit the gobbler's head and he just stood there. We stood up, took a few steps puzzled. Then we noticed the shot took a chunk out of his neck, but did not break it. The gobbler stood there for a couple of minutes, dazed. I pushed him with my gun and he finally started walking away and then he fell over. We were both shocked. I've never imagined something like that happening.
