Not finding what I want on internet.

Wanting My dinner tomorrow night the be "quail cooked in crock pot over a bed of rice"

Help in this area is greatly appreciated.

Simple as can be works great for me.

Well I probably would cheat on the rice with Uncle Bens in the microwave pouch , pick your flavor and zap, the birds rosemary salt pepper low setting 8 hrs maybe, super easy supper. Let us know how it went,

No uncle bens. Please get the Walmart thick plastic yellow bag jasmine rice I swear it is the only rice worth paying for. Not all jasmine rice is the same believe me.

I have not eaten quail since 1987 or so. The store bought ones are okay.

Easiest rice by far that taste good is Seeds Of Change brown basmatti. It has NO SALT added and microwaves up in 90sec. Brown basmatti is one of the healthy rices you can eat next to genmai (spouted rice). I love jasmine but it is about the worst rice for you. Very high glysemic index. Only thing worse is sticky rice. Regular basmatti is also pretty good as far as the GI. UB's basmatti and jasmine are also no salt added except for the seasoned ones.

Good cheap rice....Botan or Kokuho Rose pink label. Both are a calrose medium grain variety. Wally World should carry Botan for sure and might have Kokuho Rose but dont get the yellow label. Its kinda blah.

They are frozen and in one of what I call the mid-aisle open freezers, where they put turkeys or whatever.

You should be able to find quail, rabbit, etc.. at Publix or Kroger.
Really? Frozen, I assume? I will take a look this afternoon on the way home

I have the quail. Kroger has it in frozen section just to the left of frozen shrimp section.

I was looking for a good recipe. A friend of mine gave me his recipe.

My bad about not being clear enough on original post.

Will definitely try this recipe. I have tried this exact same thing with chicken breasts...used the same soups you used, but I also added a can of broccoli/cheddar soup...and put on a bed of rice. Very good

if you have not done chicken breasts using the Mississippi roast beef in crock pot recipe, then you just might be missing out on a real good easy meal.

I do something similar with boneless skinless chicken thighs also. From the base recipe you can change spices to suit your mood. Such as a "white chilli flavor" or a curry are easy to alter the base recipe. Both adapt well to the "cream of ____" base. Mom used to mix it up with "cream of" this or that depending on anything else she added. Such as mixing cream of chick with cream of celery or mushroom.

One of my all time favorite comfort foods are pork chops simmered in cream of mushroom until they start to fall apart. DELICIOUS with mashed taters or rice.

Thanks for the info about the Mississippi roast beef recipe. Wife and I did this yesterday - cooked a 3 lb roast for 8 hours and added some carrots the last 2 hours. Unbelievably good and wife approved. Put on a bed of homemade mashed potatoes. She wanted to put it into our recipe book. :super:
