Hey all, got a question. Just started doing brass prep on a 7mm Rem Mag. First 5-7 cases sized just fine. Then I started crushing the shoulder when full length sizing. Set die up per RCBS instructions. Never had this issue happen with any of my other calibers/dies. What am I missing?

What lube are you using, and how much? Could be too much lube, or your vent hole may be clogged.
The stuff that came with the RCBS kit a few years ago. I usually throw to small lines down and spread it with the cases. It crushed it with the deprimer pin removed also. So I don't think it's the vent hole.

I did the same thing on my brass case only a little worse. I raised the die a little. It fixed it. The die had somehow gotten screwed down a little farther than what I had originally set it at.

Raising the die a hair can lead to a bulge just above the belt May want to take one of those cases and see if the empty will chamber and eject without undo pressure.

Your brass should have nothing foreign inside or outside beyond the lube. IIRC water does not compress, hence the brass has to give.

I appreciate the help. It was either the water or the lube. I'm leaning towards the water. I thoroughly dried the remaining cases and used a little less lube on them. They sized with no issues. That's what I get for getting in a hurry, I guess.

On a side note, are the compressed cases compromised?

Nope, just size again to make sure there aren't any bulges outside correct dimensions, load and fire. The firing will blow the dents back out.

That looks like to much lube as stated above but there could be something in your die. Take it apart and clean it. Those indentions look to similar.

Yes, I am not using anything creased.

Those lube dents will smooth out on the next firing, resize and make sure it will seat in your bore before you load them. Unless you have a mess of cases, I'd use them.
