Anyone on here ever tried to hunt along the Cumberland - outside the twra game areas? Not sure how much barge and general boat traffic affects it.

Yep! waste of time. If you scout you may find some concentrations in the backwater areas but that's a lot of scouting..

I have done it but rarely successfully especially in recent years. We are basically hunting lost ducks in the margin and with declining duck numbers, fewer are lost in the margins each year.

They can sit on rivers up north without access to feed or do it 500 miles further south without feed. I don't blame them for sitting tight

Not so much downtown nashville river area. The stretch west of Nashville up to Ashland City (before Cheatham Lake wma) and the narrower stretch between Cordell Hull and Old Hickory.

Tried Priest some but it's just bad.

Unit 3 (between OHL and Cordell Hull) can be ok but you've gotta scout. OH overall has been crap this year, so probably not worth the headache.

Waste of time! I have shot a few geese over the years on the Cumberland River and Percy Priest but that was 30 years ago
