I too am considering getting into the game this spring. Mostly because i was into a spot deer hunting this year where i heard em every morning and had 3 bearded ones come through a draw where i was so it peaked my interest. So i picked up some reading material at the ole library to get me started.

I like Knight and Hale. Never read that particular book but, enjoy watching their videos and have read articles by them.

I read that book many moons ago and still have it. Old school turkey hunting is the ultimate chess match, and is very addicting once you play the game a few times. Best of luck in the turkey woods this spring.

Like most things reading will help, but to really shorten the learning curve, I'd advise finding a friend or relative who could mentor you on actual hunts. Many turkey veterans would even be willing to go with you on your places to hunt and not even carry a gun. They just enjoy playing the game.

Btw unless you're ready to sacrifice many spring days, be sleep deprived, and having a stupid gobbling bird consume most of your waking hours, you'd be better off to stop now and not jump in the water.
