want to have some arrows cut. will it make a difference if they are cut at nock end or point end? they are not fletched but have ferrels in them. thought it would be easier to just cut on nock end then fletch them.

If by ferrels you mean inserts, it will not be a problem to cut off the nock end.

I generally have mine cut or cut my own, but I cut off of both ends. Some say that will help staighten them up a bit. Let's say you need to trim an inch. I would take a half inch off of both ends. If you wanted to do that you would have to knock the inserts out which can be done with a small diameter drill bit. Just slide it down into the shaft and sling the arrow so the bit hits the insert. just do it in a safe area becasue if it comes all the way out it will sling across the room.

Personally for this application I wouldn't fool with getting the inserts out. I would just cut of the back end.

I just read your other post. Sounds like your needing to take 2" off....I would in that case cut off both ends. 1 inch of the front will clear the insert. Then take an inch off the back You just have to get more inserts. JMO

yup. easy fix for about 6 bucks.

If you are wanting to cut off the nock end to avoid re gluing in inserts, there is nothing at all wrong with doing that. I always spin mine before installing inserts and cut off the end that is not true. If both ends are untrue then cut some off each end. If I want to get real precise then I cut small amounts off the worse end then re-spin and continue to cut off the worse end till get the length I need.
